Mentoring, Self-Advocacy & Disability Pride

Expert Guidance for Self-Advocacy and Connection

Redefining the 2e Experience

The most exhausting part of being twice-exceptional isn't usually the neurodivergence itself—it is the years of "masking," and the isolation of feeling like you don't fit into the "gifted" or "disabled" boxes exclusively.

At Exceptional Like Me, we believe that true success isn't just about academic or professional achievement; it’s about identity. This service is a dedicated space to dismantle the shame often associated with neurodivergence and replace it with a framework of self-knowledge, legal literacy, and community pride.

Redefining The 2e Experience
Who Its For

Who It’s For

  • 2e Young People: Students who know they are "different" but don't yet have the language or confidence to explain their needs to teachers or peers.
  • HSC Candidates & Families: Students requiring practical guidance to successfully navigate the complex NESA Disability Provisions process.
  • Neurodivergent Adults: Individuals navigating the complex emotions of a late diagnosis or those seeking to reconstruct their identity after workplace burnout.
  • Anyone Facing "Disclosure" Decisions: Those wondering how, when, and to whom they should disclose their diagnosis in schools, universities, or professional environments.

What We Offer

This isn't just theory; it is mentorship grounded in active community leadership. As an organising committee member of the Sydney Disability Pride Festival, Olivia brings a direct connection to the neurodivergent community and a deep understanding of disability rights.

Strategic Self-Advocacy

Learning exactly how to request accommodations in school or the workplace—and understanding the legal frameworks that support those rights.

Identity Reconstruction

Working through the "late-diagnosis" timeline to separate your true self from the coping mechanisms you built to survive.

Mentoring & Lived Experience
Guidance from someone who has navigated the same selective schools, elite universities, and professional hurdles you are currently facing.
Community Connection
Moving from isolation to a broader sense of disability pride, connecting your personal journey to the vibrant, neuro-affirming community.
“You get proud by practising.” - Stella Young

NESA HSC Disability Provisions

Navigating the paperwork for HSC accommodations can feel overwhelming. Olivia has extensive experience coordinating this process within schools, and understands the exact documentation NESA requires, how to fill out the forms accurately, and what accommodations students can realistically apply for and expect to receive. She can help you streamline the application process to ensure your teenager gets the right scaffolding for their senior exams.
